See my original painting that interprets
how van Gogh might have painted his own
cat!
One day
Vincent van Gogh took a break from painting a still life of sunflowers and left
the
arrangement sitting on a table. While he was gone, his cat hopped
up on the forbidden table
and started chewing on the flowers. The next
portrait of the cat showed it missing one of its ears.

your print it arrived on time and I loved it the moment I took it out of
the tube. The colors are wonderful and I am now looking for the
perfect frame to hang it up in. Hope to purchase more prints.
Kayla "Hi Eve, The Van Gogh
print arrived this afternoon in beautiful condition. We have two
orange tabbies who are famous for eating our plants, so this print was
perfect for our home. Thank you for your excellent service!"
Sincerely, "Well, it took me long
enough but I finally got a chance to spend an evening at your site!
I thoroughly enjoyed all your pages... the pictures and art work are just
wonderful! Your own cats are just gorgeous and full of
personality. You've put so much work into this site and it shows...
terrific job! We'd LOVE to give you Punkin's Award for your site and
add you to our favorite links too. I think I'll have to order a copy
of Van Gogh's cat as well! Reminds me so much of my Daisy!
Looks like her, and that's exactly what she does with flowers, too.
Thanks for an enjoyable time here! Sherry at Punkin NET" "Hello
Eve.....The print arrived several days ago, and I just love it! I
can't wait to get it framed and hung. I was amazed at how fast it
got here; and, I must say, it's even nicer than I thought it would
be. Thank you so much. Ellie at Cats and Pink Cadillacs" A picture of van Gogh's Bad Cat has been published in the November
2001 issue of the magazine, Muse, from the publishers of
Cricket and Smithsonian Magazine, in an article on
Vincent van Gogh and How to Spot a Faux van
Gogh. Dear Eve, The print arrived today, and it is
just perfect. I got it as a gift for a co-worker, and she loves it.
All my colleagues agree that you are very talented. Thank you for
offering a great product. A.V. The cat art parody prints
for van Gogh's Bad Cat were originally painted in acrylics on canvas
to be able to capture the brushstrokes typical of this artist. The
yellow ochre and blue frequently used by van Gogh are called complementary
colors, because they are opposite each other on the color wheel.
Complementary colors enhance each other, and mixtures of the two result in
many wonderful intermediary colors. This is one of the color schemes
van Gogh used for his sunflowers. Sunflowers are a
very cheerful subject, even when they've been chewed on. They are
the colors of a warm summer day and bring the sunlight into a room the
whole year round. An orange tabby just doing what some cats do
brightens the picture even more with its own brand of joy.

I
got the Van Gogh's Cat print today and I have to tell you that the
customer service was exceptional and that the shipping was unbelievably
fast! Thank you so very much for providing such wonderful
art! Always, Mel
P.S. She came for my 50th
birthday and we had a WONDERFUL visit. I wish you could've seen her face
when she opened up Van Gogh's Naughty Cat! It was just priceless. One of
those "This is so great, I don't know whether to laugh or cry"
looks. What made it even more special is that, sometime after I
bought the print from you, her ginger cat, Avis, was diagnosed with
cancer. Marianne had to have her put to sleep about a week before her
trip, because she was in a lot of pain and had stopped eating. Your print
will be in a place of honor in Marianne's home. Thanks again,
Chrissy

Van Gogh was in the
middle of one of his sunflower paintings, when his subject matter was
destroyed. Amazingly, he was able to finish the picture from memory,
and you will probably be able to recognize the painting even at its
unfinished stage.

van Gogh Vincent
van Gogh painted alla prima; that is, he worked rapidly and
intensely, not stopping or making changes until he accomplished what
he had in mind. He varied his use of different types of
brushstrokes--dashes, dots, dabs, hatchmarks, swirling lines, and
distinct outlines, without blending the colors, resulting in a very
energetic painting. |
