(This is an exquisite
and captivating painting that far exceeds the illustration here. I
have to tell you that at a recent art exhibit, this was the image that more
people were drawn to and said, "I love this picture!" And most of them
just had to buy it!)

Hi Eve, I have received my order of What's Up, Pussycat and Munch's Cat on canvas, and I absolutely love them!! I am very pleased with both of them and would like to order more from you in a few months. Thanks again for doing such a fabulous job! I most definitely will make my second order within the next month. PJ Howell at AmazingMail.com The canvas transfer of What's Up, Pussycat arrived, and we
love it! It's very entertaining - captures the spirit of our alpha
cat :) Ann Mulder Hi Eve.
Just thought I'd let you know that I now have my wonderful cat poster
framed and hanging in my work area. I have had several nice comments
about it--especially from the shop where I had the framing done. One
of the girls couldn't stop admiring it! Regards, Rita Toews at

These cat prints were based on an original, which was painted with both transparent watercolor and opaque white. The proud blue-point snowshoe siamese was created in a painting frenzy. Starting with tinted paper, the cat was first drawn in pencil and then the paint started flying. It was a total emotional envolvement to capture this magnificent creature, from beginning to end, without stopping. The paint was applied emotionally. Maybe this is why this has been one of the favorite paintings of my viewers. Perhaps the rapid painting was able to capture more of the nature of this cat than a more controlled painting could have. I loved the experience of painting in this manner, but my adrenalin level was so high by the time I finished, it took hours to wear off. After the paint was dry, I went back in with pen and ink for the final broken outline and indications of fur. This painting was quite an experience. It was so demanding, I have not painted like this since. The inquisitive, alert
energy of the cat has been captured in this bold
painting. The energy is so strong, the animal comes alive while
you are looking at it. It is amazing how the suggestion of a cat
through splotches of color and line can seem more realistic than a
careful, exact painting or a photo. Information on the cat art parody print process and the canvas transfers can be found under Cat prints/Canvas transfers. |
