This strong-willed cat began life in Baja California and ended up in California, USA, with his own green card. When he was a baby, his ears were huge for his little face, and with his dark gray coat, he looked like a bat. Fledermaus is Geman for bat. Since we know a little German and love opera, Fledermaus he became. So, he's a Mexican, American, German Russian Blue. Look for Fledermaus in the cat paintings on this site: |

Fledermaus: 1991 - 2002
Hello
Eve,
I'm sorry to hear about Fledermaus.
But you have immortalized him with your artwork and since he was such a
ham, I'm sure he is looking down from heaven all smug. If he
did reincarnate, he may in fact become the one on the other side of
the canvas ;-) "an artiste".
Art and music are quite therapeutic, as well
as sharing stories of your joys and sorrows. This is why I found your site
very endearing. You're bringing "BEAUTY" to many homes in every sense of
the word. Perhaps cats (pets in general) are a medium by which we find our
humanity. Thanks for everything.
Sincerely, Marta Soto (Nosferatu's
mom)
