Animated Cat

The Cat Gallery is pleased to present a delightful animated cat called Maukie, for you to tease with your mouse pointer.  The creator of this entertaining feline is unknown.  A misconception is that is was created by Helen Laura Broenink, from the Netherlands.  However, her website explains the confusion and offers useful information on the subject, even a Maukie fanclub.

TO PLAY WITH MAUKIE:

Move your cursor around, and kitty's head and eyes will follow it.  Scratch her head, and she'll meow.  Rub her tummy, and she'll purr.  All the while, she's breathing in and out, and watch the tail.  She may even try to swat the cursor.

NOTICE:  Helen had to remove Maukie from her own site because it was so popular and so many people were linking to it, that she was reported to the spamcop for spamming (which, of course, was not the case).  Maukie was subsequently moved to another site.  Even the site where it is located now can be overloaded with requests and Maukie might not be available for awhile, until the site's counter is reset.  The main problem is that too many fans have made Maukie their computer's wallpaper, which comes up whenever they turn on their computers, and this constitutes another hit to the site.  There are instructions to follow if you would like to have Maukie on your computer.
