Q:
How fast is
delivery in the US?
A: First Class:
West
Coast: about 3 days
East Coast: about 3 to 5 days
(depending on location)
Rest of US: about 3 to 5 days
(depending on location)
These times are estimates and can vary considerably,
depending on the USPS. The Cat Gallery cannot guarantee exact delivery
times.
Christmas Shipping:
Expect slower delivery as Christmas approaches. The final
week before Christmas, California and neighboring states should receive
orders in time for the Holiday. However, the closer December 25th
approaches, the stronger it is recommended that you use Express
Mail.
The final week, as a Christmas present, The Cat Gallery
will send your First Class orders as Priority Mail, which generally takes
as long as First Class, but is given priority. No arrival dates can
be guaranteed, except by Express Mail.
Express
Mail:
Generally next day
Q: How fast is
delivery to Canada?
A: First class mail will
take about a week.
Expect slower delivery as Christmas
approaches.
Q: How fast is delivery to
Europe?
A: First Class Air Mail should take about
7 days and no more than 10.
Expect slower delivery as Christmas
approaches.
Q: How much is
shipping?
A: Currently, Visa and Mastercard are
accepted for all orders. The costs are based on weight. So,
depending on the size of the prints ordered, you might be able to purchase
several prints and have them shipped in one mailing tube for the price of one,
which is $5.00 for First Class mail. Canvases are shipped in boxes and the
price depends on the size and weight. Your shipping costs will be automatically
calculated for you as you fill out the order form, so you will know how much
they will be before your purchase is completed.
Q: What's the best way to frame the prints that are on archival
paper?
A: This depends on the colors of the art itself
and the style of decorating you use in your home. The outside dimensions
of the prints are standard sizes, so you can find a ready-made frame if you
wish. A framer can provide you with advice and let you try out various
mats and frames to see how they work together and enhance the picture. To
maintain the archival quality of a work of art, it is recommended to use an
acid-free mat (which keeps the picture away from the glass, which contains acid)
and an acid-free backing board. Do not use cardboard as a backing for your
pictures.
Q: What's the best way to frame the canvas
impressions?
A: Since the canvases are
finished with a coat of UV-protective varnish, they do not have to be under
glass. The picture that you receive stretched on canvas is without the
white border. They are standard sizes, so here again, you could find a
ready-made frame or order something through a framer.
Q:
Do you take
commissions?
A: I'm sorry, but at this time I'm not
painting commission pieces. The only exception right now would
be if you wanted a picture of a woman with a cat and you didn't care what
they looked like :-) (I'm experimenting now.)
Q:
Do you donate
your art to charities?
A: Yes, I do. Please see
the page on 'Charity Donations' for a list of animal organizations to which I've
given my prints for their art auctions. If you know of animal charities
that hold auctions to raise money for their programs, please let me
know.
Q: Will there be a Customs charge on orders outside of the
USA?
A: It will depend on the cost of the item and the
country. Please check with your Customs officials or Post Office before
placing an order to know what to expect when your order arrives. For
instance, if you order a canvas print, you may have to pay Customs duty on
it. If your order is not picked up by a certain time, your Post
Office may return it. You would receive a refund for the item minus all
shipping charges.
